TS, you have my condolences. data recovery is a real option but as many other bros advised, it wouldn't be very wise because it's illegal content we're talking about after all. nonetheless, do keep the HDD around as it might be possible to recover your data through more discreet means in the future, whether in the lion city or aboard. might have to wait a while though.

The HDD cannot be detected at all.
Hardware fault. Not recoverable using software.
So I will just have to let it go.

Will just start my collection from zero again.
Now Seagate FreeAgent Desk 1TeraByte storage just cost $159 and packaged everything swee swee for you.
Might consider getting that.

Try to recover the files with 'EASY Recovery Professional'. Since you have bit torrent, download it and use it for a while.

This software actually would recover almost everything. Read carefully.
Once I've recovered about 20GB of data (HDD Size last time). It even recovers raw data. Anyhow, since you have 500 GB. Purchase the software from them.

Well, from what I know... as long as you can hear/feel the HDD spin, you can recover the data . Just pray that TS can get his data back... then he can 'share' with all of us... then we stop cheonging like him.
