Urgently Need Advice Help abt Divorce matters
Sorry guys, i know i shouldn't post it here, but i really don't know which thread to post at, so pardon me.
My wife intend to divorce with me, and i just recieved a letter stating "REGISTRAR'S NOTICE IN THE SUBORDINATE COURTS OF THE REPUBLIC OF SINGAPORE" TITLE : "NOTICE OF HEARING OF WRIT/PETITION" it's at Family & Juvenile Court No3. Do i need to attend it and what is it all about, as there's no signature or any court letter head. Pls help me

Bro,
Divorce is such sticky stuff because if the emotions involved. Firstly, you will need to sever all emotions and the rest of the issues are technicals... Read the summon of writs... on wat basis is she divorcing you? then come to see if u wish to contest against her petition.

You come until here for 'professional' advice sure got 1001 answers from the bro. My layman answer afaik is no need to attend if you dont intend to contest. Better seek lawyer's advice. Go to those FOC CC organized legal consultations if you want to save

Last time I did call to one CC of those free legal advice as my china friend got a bit of trouble and she do not want to engage a lawyer, the CC told me that there is a quota , I remember is only 5 people per day. so if u really want to consult those free lawyer, remember to call first. However, I think they can only advice u and not really work for you, if u want to engage them, u still need to pay.

bro, any letter you receive from the courts best attend or sent a lawyer to attend on your behalf. Failure to do so amounts to disrepect to the court and they have the power to issue a warrent of arrest and enforce it.
If you do not wish to engage a lawyer, perhaps due to time or costs, you can always go down personally to the court and check on the notice board if indeed you had been summoned, for on the notice board will have list of names and time schedules, or perhaps check with the police officer there with your IC. If you dont wish to contest the divorce, then just attend it and agree to whatever the judge says, and he will probably throw you in for some informal counselling and mediation at another chamber and then return you back to the court to fix a date for further hearing. If you wish to contest, then best get a lawyer now lay the fireworks on him. Good luck bro, and whatever it is, may you find a resolution the conflict, in or out of court. Your wife is divorcing with you, and I am 101% sure problem lies on you! I have seen lots and all kinds of divorce cases. Unfortunately, this could be a retribution for you because you are cheating your wife, sleeping with other women. Right? You long already knew this day will come. Frankly, I do not pity you for your unsuccessful marriage. You ask for it! (pardon me saying this) If I were in your wife's shoes, I will understand her position very well. For instance, you have a grown-up married daughter and how would you feel if you knew your son-in-law in messing with other women? Sorry that I have to put it in a straight forward writing.

thanks bro for ur words.
i dun intend to contest anything n i intend to divorce too. i didn't two time her which lead to divorce for ur info, is becos of my attitude during our marriage which i always stay on my parents side slowly things happen anyway she got herself a bf long time and i discover it from my PI, and worse he's a officer serving in the ARMY by name of RO???D staying at west side. No point saving this marriage anymore when she already got bf and is a army regular officer.
