Condoms do not offer much protection against viral STDs which are transmitted via skin to skin contact eg Genital Warts and Herpes.

This is because a condom does not cover areas such as the base of the penile shaft and the scrotum.

If you had intercourse it means that the base of your penile shaft that is not covered by a condom came into contact with a Labia Minora and the transmission of Herpes and Warts is therefore possible.
