Queueing is usually outside the room, provided you will not block the way of others. Especially the neighbouring WLs' door because this will disturb their business, and believe you me, they will get angry and ask you to move away.
As we know the corridors are cramped. So, if got 2 or 3 Bros in the queue already, then might as well come back later until the queue will get less. There is no point to wait outside the house because who can tell for certain who you are specifically targetting?
Also when in the queue, and you are next, do not, ever, ever hesitate to go in when the door opens and the previous customer has gone out already. Time is precious to the WLs. Joining the queue means you intend to call on the WL for her service. I am appalled when a Bro in front waiting for some half an hour only to walk away when the WL's door open. Good for me actually. ne less Bro means I'm next.
The uncle you mentioned "bulldozed" his way in for some reason. Maybe, he had been waiting a long time and seeing you all hesitate and just look-look-look, he made something happen. Or, he got booking with the WL.
