Hi all Bros, if this is not the place to write about this then pardon me ok? This is a real-life situation and I’m not making up the story. I just wanna hear some views on this and perhaps we could have a mini discussion and keep this thread on the first page.
Last week, my gf told me an incident that happened to her friend which makes my blood boil and pity her friend.
Father passed away and the elder brother and sister act blur and didn't help out with the funeral. Keep saying no money then bo pian. I was like: "Hey, this is your father and how could you behave like that?" In the end, the friend had to borrow money for the funeral. My gf also can’t afford to lend much when her friend came to her house asking for help.
I thought that the end of this but I was very very wrong.
Only just yesterday, I thought I saw that friend at my gf house while on yahoo with her. From the small webcam window, I could see that she was sobbing in a corner or was she not?
Me: Who came to your house to play?
Gf: Ah vi (name of that friend)
Me: Ok.
Me: I think she is crying but not sure.
Gf: Really?? I go see her you don’t angry me ok
Me: Ok.
About 10 mins later,
Gf: Sorry today vi cry a lot
Me: Why she cry?
Gf: She argue with brother then brother hit her.
Me: Hit? Why brother hit?
Gf: They argue about their father thing.
Gf: Her brother not good.
As the conversation goes on, this is what I gathered. As they were supposed to do the weekly rituals for their deceased father, the 1st one was done by vi. (In this aspect, they seems to do the same as us in S’pore) Yesterday, during the afternoon, Vi ask her brother to do the 2nd one because she need to go to work but her brother refused. He said that CNY is coming so he don’t want to do. I was flabbergasted when I heard this. Such an unfilial son. Even worse than a bastard. This also anger Vi greatly and as a result, an argument erupted. In the midst of the argument, her brother punched her. This is a guy who is hen-pecked and doesn’t even dare to disobey his wife and yet he punched her own sister. Not once but a few times as a matter of fact. I did manage to see Vi’s face while consoling her. There were indeed a few visible bruises there and who knows the extend of damage in her other parts of the body.
Now, I want to send the most venomous sms(curse) of VN words to this ‘brother’ because we are acquaintances no more. For the first time in my life, I feel like ‘killing’ someone. I can’t believe that such people actually exist and that I knew him.
Whenever I read about similar cases in the news, I don’t really feel anything. However, this is a wholly different experience. Perhaps such is common in many countries but when this actually happens to someone who you consider to be a friend, it changes the whole equation.
Thanks for bearing with me. I guess I need an outlet to vent my thoughts. Personally, I feel that Vi is a good girl and deserve a much better siblings. FYI, Vi is definitely not a WL in case there is any misunderstanding.
Hmm for the sms, I would need some inputs because my tieng viet really cmi. Your views on this? Is such case common?
