Some other things. The girl asked me to come, invited me, by SMS. She texted me later to say she reserved me a table. When I arrived that night, the door men didn't want to let me in the club, though others arriving (VNese) passed thru no question. I'm white, for those who don't know, and I was well dressed. Got someone who spoke a bit of English and explained, gave my girl's name, and got let in finally. Inside the club I had to make my own way to a random table. So much for the reservation. It seemed as if other early-arriving guests were at the tables on levels up, not down on the main floor where I was directed to go (just in front of DJ station). My girl was new there (first week) and while we were talking together, they were whispering in her ear everything they wanted her to say or do, and that was often, interrupting our talking. Very awkward. She also had a galaxy tab next to her getting messages from "Public Relations" again giving her instructions of what to do, and which she had to pay some attention to as we talked. I did manage to squeeze some conversation in, but on the whole it was off-putting and awkward. I really got the feeling they were doing a very hard sell to raise the final bill, and trying to control the girl like a puppet. I know pushing the fruit dish and alcohol is to be expected in VN clubs, but this was far more so than I'd ever seen before at any club. One more, the waiters all had headphones on, I think getting instructions from some command center.
