Since you have a gf there, It's already a good start. My previous trip was my virgin trip too and I still able to enjoy it very much. Should you need to go fly kite alone, not to worry, I am sure you can still enjoy yourself to the fullest (the tuk-tuk will be a good source of info gathering for you to explore Siem Reap)
