A woman was walking home alone at Clementi Avenue 3 at 2am on Thursday, Jan 22, when a man robbed her of her handbag.

According to Lianhe Wanbao, 32-year-old massage therapist, Jessie, was walking down a pedestrian bridge when she was targeted by the robber.

He attempted to grab her handbag.

Thinking she could save her belongings, she held on tightly to her bag and refused to let go.

She then screamed for help.

However, she did not expect the robber to pull out a knife and stab her repeatedly. The assailant stabbed her three times and ran away when he managed to get the handbag.

Fortunately, passers-by came to the aid of Jessie, who was bleeding profusely by then.

She suffered stab wounds to her waist, lungs, and liver.

She is recuperating after a 10-hour surgery, but is still in weak condition and is unable to speak.

The robber must've been observing and targeting for some time. Knowing that therapist knocking off work at the end of the day will be carrying pretty good amount of cash.

I has always been serious. It is just not always reported.

Although SG is way safer then Mexico, stuff like this do happen.

Trust me on this. Just be aware of your surroundings.

GG maybe next time robbers camp near deposit machines.

Then again they are known to camp near atms.

That is why I always shake my head whenever someone withdraw $$$ slowly walk out counting and walking.

Counting show ppl your $$$, and you become less aware of your surroundings.

There's a police station at Clementi Ave 5 not far away from Ave 3.
