Taking photos

I have always wonderd what the correct etiquette is for taking photos of the session?

So far I have been told "NO" by the bosses, but how come there is even a forum on this site with people successfully taking those photos?

What am I missing? Is this a Malaysian thing?

i thought only can take photo if with fl. if we take from the girl who under an agency, we need to respect the etiquette.
